Moscow Mardi Gras invites you to participate in this year’s Mardi Gras Parade, on Saturday, March 6, 2004 in downtown Moscow. Pre-registration is advised (our typist will love you if you do!). The Parade will begin at 11:00 AM and run from A Street to 6th Street. Registration begins at 9:00 AM at the Black Rhino. Registration check-in is required at this location. Line-up will begin at the Eagles Lodge on A Street. All Parade participants must be registered by 10:30AM. Please clean up your mess after the Parade.
Any type of entry is welcome. Bands, Marching Units, Floats, Pets, Kids, Parents, School Groups, Shopping Clubs, Politicians, you name it, you can probably do IT!
We are looking for plenty of color and the traditional Mardi Gras Spirit. There will be announcing stages at Mingles and Friendship Square.

Please note: By signing this registration form, each participant, including each group who participates in the Parade agrees:
Þ To take care and caution to avoid injuries.
Þ To observe all the instructions of the Parade managers.
Þ To take the responsibility for his/her own conduct, keeping in mind that this is a family event (no obscenities, etc.).
Group leaders agree to supervise the members of their groups, to maintain control and to assure that participants observe all instructions. In this regard, please remember that pedestrians have the right of way, the throwing of hard or otherwise dangerous objects is absolutely forbidden and swinging objects in the air must be performed with extreme care.

Please write a description of your entry, which will be given to the announcer stations along the parade route, who will then tell the throngs of people lining the street, who and what you and your entry are about. Please limit it to 50 words or so, on the back of this page. Our typist just asks that you make it legible. |
Moscow Mardi Gras 2004 Prize Categories and Awards
(All prizes are subject to change without notice, but we’ll try not to change them if we don’t have too.)
Grand Marshall’s Award: Winner will be selected from all entries by this year’s Grand Marshall. The winner will receive $50.00 in Gift Certificates at the Palouse Mall. Donated by TBA.
Best Commercial Entry: The winner will be selected from all commercial entries by our panel of distinguished panel of Judges. The award is $50.00 cold hard cash.
Best Musical Entry: The winner will be selected from all musical entries by our distinguished panel Judges. The award is tickets to the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival 2005 International Concert (Wednesday).
Best Youth Entry: The winner will be selected from all youth entries by our distinguished panel of Judges. The award is $25.00 in gift Certificates at the Eastside Market Place and $25.00. Gift certificate donated by TBA.
Best Non-Profit or Service Organization: Winner will be selected from all Non-Profit and Service Organization entries as selected by our distinguished panel of Judges. The award is $50.00 cash.
Director’s Choice: This award will be given to the Best Window Display in Downtown Moscow, as decided by the Moscow Mardi Gras Board of Directors. The winner will have their name(s) engraved on the beautiful and extravagant Mardi Gras Traveling Trophy as the 2004 winner and will remain with the business for proud display until next year’s Mardi Gras. (When the Board will come and break your arms if you don’t give it back.) additionally the winner will receive $50.00 in cold hard cash.
