Moscow Mardi Gras 2017 is on March 4, 2017.
Moscow Mardi Gras, Inc. will be going through some changes this following year. In order to allow us time and funds to make these changes, Moscow Mardi Gras 2017 will see some changes.
Moscow Mardi Gras will still take place on the first Saturday of March. This upcoming event will take place on March 4, 2017. This year’s event will not be as big as previous years. There will be no daytime events as well as no parade. The nighttime event will still take place, but there will only be 3 venues instead of the usual 5 venues. These 3 venues are John’s Alley featuring Puff Puff Beer, the Garden Lounge featuring The Intentions and Mingles featuring The Kingpins.
Moscow Mardi Gras has seen a decline in attendance for many years now. Our current MMG board has decided it is time to make some changes. In order to make these changes, we need the time and funds to do so. Moscow Mardi Gras 2017 will not have any daytime event or parade as part of the event due to the costs it takes to put these on. Also, this upcoming year, there will not be any grants awarded at the time of the Moscow Mardi Gras event as in previous years. We will be changing how our funds are awarded. More information on how we will award funds will come as we restructure
One thing we have encountered is that most people do not know that Moscow Mardi Gras, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that holds the Moscow Mardi Gras event to raise funds for children’s organizations. Our intent is to rename the organization to the Palouse Youth Project. We feel that this name best fits our mission and will hopefully help us in raising more funds for our youth. The organization will be making changes in its structure to best serve our youth.
The Moscow Mardi Gras event will still keep its name. However, Moscow Mardi Gras event will be seeing some changes in the following years. We as a board are working on changes that will help bring the event back to what it used to be.
We ask that everyone please be patient as we make these changes to restructure our organization and revamp the Moscow Mardi Gras event.
If you would like to be involved in these changes and would like to have a part in supporting our area youth, we invite you to become involved by becoming a part our organization. For more information on how to do so, please contact Genevieve Bode, MMG President by email: firstname.lastname@example.org, or call/text (208) 596-3145.
We thank you for your patience and support!
